Freddie – Rowing in the Boat Race
We were delighted that Freddie, a first-year undergraduate, was selected to join the Cambridge team in this year’s Boat Race. He then rowed for Emma in the May bumps, helping the men’s first VIII to win their blades in their new boat, ‘Spirit of 56’.
Laura – College & University Sports
Being part of the University sports teams has been incredible, and my fellow athletes have become some of my best friends. Balancing all this exercise with academic work, Model UN debating and committees, as well as getting enough sleep, has required discipline and lots of cups of tea!
Emily – The Life of a Trialist
We spent a fantastic week in Henley in the build-up to the boat race, living as a crew and getting lots of practice in on the Henley reach. Tuesday saw the Challenge, with Charlotte as our Lightweight Captain accepting the Tethys challenge while the rest of us sized up the opposition.
Caroline – Captaining University Swimming
Everybody starts university with ideas of new clubs and societies to join. So did I, but there was one exception. After having swum competitively for over ten years, the swimming stand was the first one I targeted at the Freshers’ Fair.
