Access and Outreach

We care deeply about making higher education – and Cambridge – more accessible to bright and talented students from all backgrounds. Through our access and outreach programme, we work to raise the aspirations of young people from less-advantaged and underrepresented backgrounds in our Link Areas (Sheffield and Essex). Many of these young people may never have been told that university could be an option for them, let alone Cambridge. Taking part in our programme could inspire a student to apply to university and transform their future.

Your donations help fund the programme year-on-year and enable us to take steps to strengthen our work and its impact. For example, donations have recently funded: an additional staff post, doubling the staff dedicated to running the programme; a residential aspect to our Link Area programme; and a travel reimbursement scheme, to help schools in our Link Areas who can’t afford the costs of travel to Emmanuel.
