Gifts from your IRA

Donors are able to make federal tax-free gifts to qualified charities, such as the American Fund for Emmanuel, from IRA as rollover gifts.

  • Donors age 70½ and older may transfer up to $100,000 directly from IRAs to charities.
  • The transfer generates neither taxable income nor a federal tax deduction, so donors who do not itemize their tax deductions can benefit.
  • The IRA charitable rollover gift satisfies all or part of the minimum withdrawal requirement.

If you would like to make a gift, please ask your IRA administrator to forward your gift to the American Fund for Emmanuel.

Charitable gift annuities

The American Fund for Emmanuel can accept donations by charitable gift annuities. Please contact us for further information.

Bequests

The American Fund for Emmanuel welcomes pledges of bequests. You should consult your attorney about the wording of any pledge, but a suggested form is:

‘I give devise and bequeath $xxx to The American Fund for Emmanuel, a US 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization [you can put in specific interest or use here], provided that if such organization is not in existence or is not a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization then I leave such bequest to the Emmanuel College, a registered charity in the UK.’

Please contact the Secretary if you require any further help.
