Each year we admit about 100 new full-time and about 10 new part-time postgraduate students across the full range of courses offered by the University: the three–year PhD, one year MPhil and other taught courses such as the LLM, MBA and PGCE. Our students come from a wide variety of countries and backgrounds, and the diversity of our postgraduate community is something we celebrate and enjoy.

Your college is a key part of your Cambridge experience

The college community supports you on your academic and personal journey and provides social events, academic exchange, and support, as well as cultural and sporting activities. These are integral to the way your college helps you to learn new skills and new ways of thinking, expanding your horizons, and filling out and completing your Cambridge experience.

The community at Emmanuel is welcoming and supportive

All students have a personal Tutor who is a contact for welfare and academic issues. The College Counsellor, the College Nurse as well as the porters and other College staff all play their part in helping you navigate your time at Cambridge.

The MCR (Middle Combination Room)

The focus of your postgraduate social life at Emmanuel is the MCR. All postgrad members of the College are members of the MCR, and live–in partners are affiliated members. The MCR committee organises social events, dinners, research talks and seminars, and bar nights! They also formally represent postgrads on the College's Governing Body and other committees. The MCR also refers to the actual room belonging to the MCR, which is in the recently refurbished Furness Lodge.
