Our Outreach
Welcome to Emmanuel Outreach!
Here at Emmanuel, we are committed to encouraging young people with academic potential to apply to top universities, no matter their socio–economic or educational background. Our Outreach Team works with schools and students from across the country to promote access to Higher Education, raise aspirations, and answer common questions about the University of Cambridge.
As part of the University's Area Links Scheme, we primarily work with state–maintained schools in Sheffield, Essex, Thurrock and Southend–on–Sea. Our team is the first point of contact at the University of Cambridge for any teachers or students from these Local Authorities.
We aim to equip young people with the necessary tools to make informed choices about the next steps in their educational journey and to make their application to UK universities, including Cambridge, as competitive as possible
We put on a wide variety of events and programmes for teachers, school pupils, and parents/guardians throughout the year. These range from more general informational webinars to subject-specific masterclasses and even in–person day and residential events at Emmanuel. You can take a look at examples of previous events to give you a flavour of our offering as well as any upcoming opportunities by navigating to our events listing page.
While some of our Outreach events are open to all, the majority will have eligibility requirements and selection criteria relating to Widening Participation flags. This is part of our commitment to the University's Access and Participation Plan to support underserved communities as well as those from backgrounds that have historically been underrepresented at Cambridge.
You can find out more about Widening Participation flags in our FAQ section below.
