Teaching and research
Delivering a world-class education, maintaining our reputation for academic excellence, and enabling important and impactful research to take place here, will always be priorities for us. But the future of the unique education we offer at Emmanuel is under increasing pressure, from the rising costs of providing that education to obstacles facing our Fellowship. For example, we already subsidise the education of each publicly funded undergraduate by nearly £9,000 per year. This shortfall, which we meet with endowment income, amounts to around £3 million every year. And we expect this figure to rise in the future.
There’s still much more we want and need to do to ensure the long-term excellence of our teaching, learning and research.
