Mad for maths? Positively passionate about physics? Crazy when it comes to chemistry?

Our newly launched Thomas Young Physicists Programme—named after Emmanuel alumnus and eminent scientist/polymath—could be just the programme for you!

Featuring a short series of taster lectures across a range of subjects, the programme will introduce you to what it might be like to study Physical Natural Sciences at university. The entire programme is free of charge, with the cost of food and travel for those selected to come on the in-person visit day covered by the College.

The 2024/25 programme featured lectures on:

Earth Sciences
Atmospheric Chemistry
Material Sciences
Mechanics

Eligibility

You must:

Be in Yr10, 11, or 12
Be attending any UK school, state or independent
(Yr12) Be taking Maths A Level and at least 2 other A Levels from Further Maths, Phsyics, Biology, or Chemistry
(Yr10/11) Be taking triple science or trilogy/double science at GCSE

You should:

Have an interest in studying Physics and the broader Physical Natural Sciences at university
Be on track to achieve top grades at GCSE/A-Level
