BIOGRAPHY

I am Mota Heydarian, currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Department of Medicine at the University of Cambridge. I work in the laboratory of Dr Andrew Conway Morris at Addenbrooke’s Hospital. I completed my Bachelor's and Master's degrees at the University of Tehran. I then moved to Germany to undertake further post-graduate studies, where I obtained a Ph.D. in Infection and Immunity/Tissue Engineering from the University of Würzburg, Germany.  Following this, I joined the Institute of Lung Health and Immunity (LHI) at Helmholtz Munich as a postdoctoral fellow, where I investigated innate immunity in neonatal chronic lung disease. My current research focuses on the immunological responses to respiratory infections, with the aim of advancing our understanding of host-pathogen interactions and improving therapeutic strategies. Outside of research, I enjoy reading, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
