Linguistics and Modern Languages

Linguistics and Modern Languages is a new course being offered at Emmanuel College starting in 2027. The course combines the study of language, culture, and history with the scientific study of language. It is a four-year course, with students spending their third year abroad.

Applicants will be asked to choose one language to study during the course. Students may study their chosen language either from scratch or at a more advanced level. Those applying with an A-level or equivalent qualification in their chosen language will study at an advanced level. You may choose from the following language options:

• French and Linguistics (post A-Level only)
• German and Linguistics
• Italian and Linguistics
• Portuguese and Linguistics
• Russian and Linguistics
• Spanish and Linguistics
