Biography
Steven was elected an Official Fellow in 1984, and is Emeritus Professor of Latin American Literature.
Research
His main research interest is modern Spanish American fiction. His publications include the monographs The Novels of Julio Cortázar, The Narrative of Carlos Fuentes, A Companion to Jorge Luis Borges and A Companion to Juan Rulfo (Tamesis, 2016), articles on authors from Jorge Isaacs to Alan Pauls and most recently the edited volume Carlos Fuentes y el Reino Unido (Fondo de Cultura Económica, 2017). Professor Boldy’s publications on Latin American literature include books on Julio Cortázar, Jorge Luis Borges, Carlos Fuentes and Juan Rulfo.
