Clinical Dean of the School of Clinical Medicine, Honorary Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
After growing up in Gloucestershire, I came to Cambridge to study medicine in 1991. I have not really left since, doing both my research and clinical training in East Anglia, and being appointed as University Lecturer and Honorary Consultant in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry in Cambridge in 2009.
I have gradually become more involved in teaching, culminating in my appointment as Clinical Dean at the School of Clinical Medicine starting January 2021. I was Clinical Director of Studies at Emmanuel College from 2017-2020. My main area of research is the epidemiology and treatment of adolescent depression and self-harm.
I am married with two grown-up children. I am a committed Christian. My main interests include walking, mountain biking and cooking/eating good food.
