BIOGRAPHY

Originally, I come from Lithuania, where I obtained BSc and MSc degrees in Bioengineering and a PhD in Biochemistry. In 2020, I joined Prof. Tuomas Knowles’ group in the department of chemistry as a PostDoc. My research is focused on three directions: the development of tools for early detection of neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer's and Parkinson’s, the development of tools for drug discovery, particularly antimicrobials, and the development of targeted drug delivery systems. Microfluidic technologies are at the center of my research. I spend most of my time working on these topics in Prof. Tuomas Knowles' lab at the department of chemistry, I am also partially involved in a spinout company called Ride Therapeutics, where we are developing novel vehicles for targeted drug delivery.
