Dr Simon Etkind

Simon is one of our College Research Associates, and is based at the Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Consultant in Palliative Medicine.

BIOGRAPHY

I am an assistant professor in palliative care: my clinical-academic post involves clinical work as a consultant in palliative medicine at Cambridge University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, contribution to medical student teaching at the University of Cambridge Clinical School, and research as co-lead of the PELiCam Palliative and End of Life Care Research Group in the Department of Public Health and Primary Care. My research focuses on supporting people living with multiple illnesses or clinical syndromes such as frailty. I am particularly interested in the uncertainties inherent to complex illness trajectories, the effect these have on care experience and outcomes, and how we can improve care in situations of uncertainty.
