Roger Ekins Non–Stipendiary Research Fellowship

The Governing Body of Emmanuel College invites applications for a non–stipendiary Research Fellowship in biological or life sciences with clinical applications. This Fellowship is for a fixed term of up to three years and will commence on 1 October 2026.

Fellowship Details

Benefits for non–stipendiary Research Fellows include grants for research expenses and academic travel, a book allowance, and assistance with computing facilities. Research Fellows will have the option to reside in College (Fellows’ sets are located on the main College site and are generally limited in size and facilities) and are entitled to complimentary lunch and dinner in Hall.

There is no teaching requirement attached to the Fellowship; however, Research Fellows are welcome to teach if they wish and may receive additional remuneration for up to six hours of College or University teaching per week. Research Fellows become members of the College’s Governing Body and are expected to participate fully in the governance and life of the College.

Research Fellows are normally required to reside in Cambridge during Full Term. However, with permission of the Governing Body, they may work away from Cambridge for up to three Terms during the final two years of the Fellowship.
