BIOGRAPHY
I am a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology. My research focuses on engineering synthetic biomolecular condensates—membraneless compartments that self-assemble inside E. coli cells using designed RNA nanostructures. These structures enable the formation of non-mixing compartments that can recruit specific proteins, offering new ways to organise cellular processes and control biochemical function. This work sits at the intersection of RNA nanotechnology, synthetic biology, and microbiology, with potential applications in biosensing and metabolic engineering.
Alongside my research, I have supervised Emmanuel students on biotechnology modules in the new Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology Tripos. I am also engaged in building interdisciplinary networks within the broader Cambridge research community. I recently co-organised a symposium on smart droplets and biomolecular condensates and am helping to establish a Cambridge-wide network to connect researchers working in this emerging field.
