Vincent Lumsden Society Dinner

The Vincent Lumsden Society Annual Dinner is the society’s flagship event and one of the most significant celebrations of the Black community at Emmanuel College. Taking place on Thursday 12 March 2026, the dinner brings together current students, staff, alumni, and prospective students for an evening of connection, reflection, and celebration.
Attendance is free of charge, and the dress code is formal evening wear or cultural attire. Gowns are optional, but welcome. Emmanuel members are warmly invited to join us for the evening.
Named in honour of Vincent Lumsden, one of the first Black students at Emmanuel, the society was founded to foster a supportive, inclusive, and affirming space for Black students within the College. The Annual Dinner sits at the heart of this mission, centring the Black Emmanuel community while creating opportunities for intergenerational dialogue, belonging, and mentorship.
With strong support from the college, the dinner continues to grow as a cornerstone of community life at Emmanuel, affirming the society’s commitment to representation, connection, and legacy.
