Welcome to your Postgraduate Studies

Please read these documents first. The other sections below give more detailed information. These are the official documents from the Postgraduate Tutor and College Tutorial Office. It is also strongly advised that you familiarise yourself with College Regulations, Health & Safety and the Domestic Matters (see Other Information) before coming into residence.

We will continue to add information to this webpage, so do please check here regularly for updates.

Freshers' could get a hard copy Freshers' Pack from the Porters’ Lodge on arrival if needed.

Requesting a Bank Letter

If you wish to open a bank account in Cambridge, please fill in this Online Bank Form to request a bank introduction letter. The letter will be available after you have completed your College ID checks. Students are advised to prepare for opening a bank account prior to collecting this letter. Please allow 2 to 3 working days for requests to be processed. This may take longer during busy periods, i.e. at the beginning of term/during exams.

Requesting a Verification Letter

The College can provide you with various verification documents you need for your time here. The letter will be available after you have completed your College ID checks. Please fill in this Verification Letter Form to request a letter (Raven login). Please allow 2 to 3 working days for requests to be processed. This may take longer during busy periods, i.e. at the beginning of term/during exams.

Other Information

The Postgraduate Safety Course (Scientific and certain other Departments) will take place at the beginning of term (details available nearer the time). Postgraduates who need to attend will be sent information by their Department. Further details on this course can be found here.

Other College policies can be found in the documents and policies section of this website including Data Protection Statement and many other useful documents. Once you have a Raven login, you will also be able to access the Junior Members.

Overnight Visitors - All overnight guests of students living in College accommodation must be registered ONLINE if they are staying more than 1 night and they are not Emma members (Raven required).


Information for International Students


Health

NB: All students are required to register with a local GP on arrival in Cambridge, and then to inform the College. There is an online submission form which you will be able to access once you have a Raven login, for completion after you have enrolled with a local doctors surgery. Please complete this form within a month of your arrival at the College.


Other Welcome to Cambridge Events

University of Cambridge Freshers’ Events - Around the world in August and September, University Alumni Groups will be hosting online and in-person freshers’ events for new undergraduate and postgraduate students starting a course at Cambridge this autumn. These optional events are a great opportunity to hear from current and former students about their experiences of Cambridge and meet other new starters before the beginning of term. First Year Induction Programme 2024, Black Advisory Hub

All new Black undergraduate, foundation year and postgraduate students are warmly welcome to register for an online induction session coordinated by a student team from Cambridge’s Black Advisory Hub. This pre-term online induction event is an opportunity for new students to learn how to confidently navigate relevant student services, ask questions of current Black students about their experiences, as well as meet other Black students from a range of colleges, courses and societies. It will be followed by a programme of in-person activities during term time. The first online event is scheduled for Thursday 19 September, 1-5pm. If you are commencing your studies in 2024-25, are a self-identifying Black student and would like to attend the initial online event, please find the registration link here. A message from CUAFC (Cambridge University Association Football Club):

CUAFC are excited to welcome applications to both our men's and women's pre-season from students who have a confirmed place for next year. Women’s pre-season training will start on the 25th September, and Men’s pre-season training will starts mid-September (exact date TBC).
