Connecting in College
Emmanuel Network Password
Both wired and wireless connections on the main site are secured with a username and password.
- Your username is the same as your CRSid, the first bit of your @cam email address that is made up of your initials and a number e.g. abc123.
- Login via Raven to view your network password.
- Your domain is EMMA (if asked)
Wired Network
If you live in College and are not in Old Court then there will be an Ethernet network socket in your room. We recommend that you set your computer up to use this wired connection in your room, even if you would also like to use wireless, as wired connections are generally faster and more reliable.
Most of College is covered by wireless: we support eduroam connections, a local wireless network called "Emmanuel" and a guest network for conferences.Wireless Network
eduroam

- If you are a member of the University of Cambridge then please refer to the University Computing Service's instructions (towards the bottom of the page).
- Cambridge users will require a password for eduroam available here: https://tokens.csx.cam.ac.uk/ (page protected by Raven).
- If you will be visiting Emmanuel and you are a member of an institution that also supports eduroam then you should configure your machine to connect to your local eduroam network and it should "just work" here. The central Computing Service proveides a page with technical information regarding the nature of the connections available in Cambridge.
Emmanuel-only Wireless
This network predates eduroam and provides the same coverage and level of service. We recommend that you configure your machine for eduroam following these instructions as, particularly useful if it is a laptop, it will work in other places around the University.

Conference Wireless
Instructions for connecting to the guest network will be made available to you by the organiser or when you arrive in College.
