Buildings & Grounds

Particularly notable developments in the College’s buildings and grounds over the past two decades include the following:

  • Erection of the award-winning Queen's Building, designed by Michael Hopkins and Partners, which contains a 150-seat lecture theatre with common rooms, music practice rooms and conference and seminar facilities
  • Refurbishment of houses in Park Terrace
  • Refurbishment of the sports pavilion using funds raised through the telephone fund-raising campaigns in 2000 and 2001
  • Upgrading of staircases in New Court to provide en suite facilities
  • Redecoration and refurbishment of public rooms
  • Creation of the Douglas Finlay Museum of College Life
  • Refurbishment and extension of the boathouse
  • Erection of 14 en suite student rooms in the North Court Cloisters
  • Refurbishment and extension of the College Library, designed by Kilburn Nightingale
  • Provision of a fitness suite
  • Construction of a College fitness suite
  • Enhancement of the College's gardens
