Emmanuel College Choir has made visits to many overseas locations in the last few years. Here are pictures from some of these tours:
In June 2016 the choir treated themselves to a week in sunny Munich, with a variety of concerts in monasteries, Anglican churches and cathedrals. There was the opportunity for some fantastic scenic hikes and swimming in a local lake.
In March 2015 the choir spent nine days travelling around Copenhagen, popping over to the cathedral in Malmo, Sweden, for one of the concerts.
On 21st June, 2014, members of the Chapel Choir were invited to join forces with the Academy of Ancient Music, the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the Royal Northern College of Music in a performance of Beethoven's Ninth Symphony at the Barbican, conducted by Richard Egarr.
On Friday 28th March, the Emmanuel Choir set out on their much-anticipated ten-day tour of the East Coast USA.
In March 2013 the choir spent a very cold but enjoyable week on tour in Prague.
In March 2012 the choir travelled to Rome for a week. Musical highlights included singing in the magnificent basilicas of Santa Maria Maggiore, Santa Maria sopra Minerva, and St Paul outside the Walls.
In 2011 the choir spent 10 days of the Easter vacation in Bangkok, Thailand. We were fortunate to be hosted by Shrewsbury International School, and enjoyed singing with their choir in the school's Spring Serenade concert, as well as talking to some of the sixth form students about life at Cambridge.
