Philosophy

The Faculty of Philosophy at Cambridge has a distinguished history. It has numbered among its members G.E. Moore, Bertrand Russell, Ludwig Wittgenstein and Elizabeth Anscombe (all of whom will figure prominently in any history of the subject). It continues to pursue the subject with clarity and rigour.

Philosophy is well supported at Emmanuel, with a good library provision and close ties with philosophers at other Colleges. As well as the usual teaching, we run occasional additional seminars and a few philosophical social events over the year.
